Byzantine Generals Problem

The Byzantine Generals Problem refers to the situation in which a single strategy requires consensus from all members in a group who cannot be trusted or verified. This problem is analogous to that of decentralized peer-to-peer systems, where the challenge is to ensure that all nodes (generals) are looking at information (votes) that is valid and unadulterated.
