Nodes are individual computers connected to the blockchain network that validate and relay transactions. Nodes may receive cryptocurrency rewards as incentivization for their services. In order to validate and relay transactions on the blockchain network, each node must have a copy of the blockchain that contains all the data from previous blocks. Nodes use their computer power to solve complex mathematical problems in order to verify a new transaction, which is then added to the next block in the chain if it succeeds. As an incentive for their service, nodes may receive cryptocurrency rewards.
