    Introduced in 2017, the ERC-721 is an extension of the ERC protocol and a standard for non-fungible tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. Unlike ERC-20 tokens, which are interchangeable, each ERC-721 token is unique, making them more appealing. The ability to create digital assets of this type allows developers greater flexibility in representing items such as collectibles, gaming properties, pieces of artwork, or real estate.
